The two lots for $69,000 are the colored triangle. We have colored in Shadow Mountain Lake in the
bottom right corner and, in yellow, Highway 34. In the image above you can see the lower meadow in
"Shorewood Park" to the north of the land for sale. To the west is the beginning of the huge tract
of land that is entrusted to Grand Lake's local Recreation District. Scroll down for a wider view.

All of the large tracts in the image to the west and northwest of the colored triangle (the land for sale) are
Recreation District lands. The upper left corner shows the beginning of the Golf Course and the road
that ends at the Rec. District's clubhouse, where you can enjoy dining with awesome views of the
Never Summer mountains. The interesting green shapes in the middle of the photo are lily ponds; it is
well worth a short hike to see what many never see. To the east is Shadow Mountain Lake.
The aerial shows the private marinas at the northern end of the lake.

Have fun zooming in and out and flying around! Here is a tip on how to locate a specific property.
If you click on the "Find Parcel" option, a window will open asking for a PIN number. These
PIN numbers are easy to get. Here is how. In a separate browser window, go to the accessors's
property search database: http://www2.co.grand.co.us/assessor_lookup/owner_rec.php
Enter your own name (if you own property in Grand County) or the name of someone you know
who owns property.
When a record opens, at the very top, its first entry is its Parcel Number. Highlight the long number.
This number is the PIN number that you enter into the mapping system. Cut and paste the PIN/Parcel
Number into the Find Parcel window and the mapping system will automatically color the property
for you. You still need to know roughly where it is located in reference to the lakes. If you do not see
the property highlighted on the map, you will have to scroll around and zoom into its approximate
location. These instructions above are not the only way to navigate the maps; we hope you find them
to be helpful. Our property buyers are often quite savvy when it comes to knowing Grand Country.

The map above is adapted from a standard plat map. The two lots for $69,000 are outlined in green.
To visit the land, turn west onto Road 466, 1½ miles south of Grand Lake and just south of Road 469
shown above. Go a couple of hundred feet and turn right. The land is 2 blocks down, on your left.
Winter access can be difficult because the road is privately maintained and not as wide as it shows on the map.

The property for sale borders a huge tract of Recreation District land.
The
www.MountainLake.com website that you are visiting here emphasizes
what in real estate is for sale AND what will be never for sale. It is the vast national
and local trust lands that are forever off-the-market which give the remaining sliver
of real estate its permanent resale value. Our presentation here gives you a glimpse of the
scale of these protected lands that range from lakes, rivers, mountains, meadows, the

Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District's
golf course and its undeveloped
tracts that adjoin the Golf Course and Nordic Center. (The word Metropolitan
in its title seems odd.) The local Recreation Districts from Grand Lake to Winter Park
are powerful entities with resources and activities that are astonishing for our rural
and pastoral setting surrounded by National Park, Forests and Wilderness. The newly
opened
Grand Park Community Recreation Center attracts a huge number of people
to its water world, especially when the weather has not been cooperating for other
forms of recreation.
