The first mile of this series is a highly recommended family walk.
You start at the south end of Shadow Mountain Lake (shown here).
You drive into the Green Mountain Campground Area off Hwy 34 between
Grand Lake and Lake Granby. It is a designated National Recreation Area.
You have to purchase a parking pass if you wish to explore the area.
