Camp 2, Thangthangka at 11,880 feet. We arrive a little before
dark with immense birds soaring high overhead. The view to Jhomolhari
is obscured by clouds, but I get enough of a glimpse to know
I should get up early. In the middle of the night, I see her looming
large in the moonlight. Click on photo to see the view at sunrise.

The elevations in this presentation are drawn from maps and also a
compact Geko 101 GPS that Bob used. It would search for 4 satellites
and give accurate readings. Only on the final descent when we were in
a cloud bank did we have difficulty with the GPS.
