A teacher of about twenty-two walks into the potion dungeons.
When she turns around her, black hair you can see is in a bun. As she turns
around she calls role and begins to take in her class. Then she says, “I
am so sorry about my absence for the last week. I had some family matters
I had to take care of at home. My name is Professor Swan. We are going to
start out by me teaching some of the required classes. All the required classes
are, ‘Safety When Around the Cauldron’, ‘The Proper Way to Dice
Ingredients’, ‘The Proper Way to Powder Ingredients,’ ‘Where
to Find Herbs,’ and ‘How to Dissect a Mandrake.’ I will start
out by teaching you how to be safe when around the cauldron.”
She turns around and when she turns back around, she places
two cauldrons on stands. Then she begins, “The cauldron on my left has two
outer defects. The first one is that there are no handles. Secondly, it has
not been cleaned from the last time it was used. The one on my right has
handles, has been cleaned, and has the proper stand. The biggest rule of
cauldron safety is to follow my directions every second. Therefore, you do
not want to talk. I will start you on potions next week for the different
levels. Now from what I know the second thing I will teach you is the proper
way to chop herbs. First, you want to make your hand an upside-down U. Next
make sure your thumb is behind the other for fingers. Now take your blade
and put it about an eight of an inch away from your fingers. Now slice the
herb into the size that you need it. Now since you have cut up your ingredients
or herbs you can start to powder them. What you do is take you wand if the
ingredient is not already dry and say, ‘Arefacio.’ Then take you pestle and
mill the herb until it is a fine powder.” After everyone had stopped taking
notes, Professor Swan turns around to the chalkboard and writes out your
homework assignment.
