You will love staying in your little cabin in the mountains during your peaceful visits to The Great Lakes
of the Rockies. Less than two hours from Denver (three minutes from the town of Grand Lake),
staying here is a classic Colorado mountain experience. The cabin was built around 1955 and
retains the charm of that era with a deco kitchen and wood stove. Relax with a good book on the deck
overlooking Shadow Mountain Lake or stroll by the lakefront and private beach only a few steps away.
Fish in the lake or nearby rivers and bring one home for dinner or just let them go.
You have a boat slip at the water's edge.
Canoes and kayaks can be pulled up on our beach. In the town of Grand Lake there are restaurants,
ATV rentals, horseback rides, live theater, miniature golf, a waterfront park, bowling and fun nightlife.
In the winter enjoy snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
Soak in the warmth at the naturally heated pools at nearby Hot Sulphur Springs. Family skiing at Sol Vista
is 20 minutes away and world famous Winter Park/Mary Jane skiing is just 45 minutes away.
The west portal to Rocky Mountain National Park where wild life viewing and hiking are superb is
right nearby. Continuing up into the Park takes you over the breath-taking Trail Ridge Road into Estes Park.
